Emergency Plans

Severe Weather:

  • Our Center has a NOAA weather radio in the office that alerts us to emergency weather situations.  In accordance with the National Weather Service recommendations, the children will be moved into the hallway and the classroom doors secured.  These procedures are practiced periodically during the Center’s severe weather drills.

Fire:

  • Our Center is equipped with a sprinkler system, fire alarms, and smoke detectors.  In the event of fire, smoke, or excessive heat indicating a fire, the fire department is alerted.  The children will be evacuated from the center under supervision of the staff.  Parents are notified in the event there is sustantial damage to the building.  Drills are conducted monthly.

Physical Plant Problems or Structural Damage:

In the event the center experiences mechanical problems that affect our delivery of care, we will notify you or your emergency contact to pick up your child and give you an anticipated date the center will reopen.  We will make every effort to ensure the facilities systems are operating properly so our delivery of care will not be adversely affected.
