Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is a global hands-on project by Samaritan’s Purse that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need worldwide.
How to Pack a Shoebox
- Choose a Container: Use an average-sized empty cardboard or plastic shoebox, or order official preprinted cardboard boxes (pack of 50 for $33) or plastic keepsake boxes (pack of 12 for $30) from the Samaritan’s Purse Store.
- Select Age and Gender: Pick an age category (2–4, 5–9, or 10–14) for either a boy or a girl and attach the correct label.
- Fill with Gifts: Include a “wow” item like a soccer ball or doll, alongside toys, school supplies, hygiene items, a personal note, and a photo.
- Avoid Prohibited Items: Do not include toothpaste, used or damaged items, war-related toys, food, candy, or liquids.
- Include Shipping Donation: Enclose a suggested $10 donation per box to cover shipping and project costs, which also enables you to track your box’s destination.
- Drop Off: Bring your packed box to Central Baptist Church between now and Nov 8th. Can’t make it here in person but still want to contribute? You can also Build a Shoebox Online using a virtual packing experience.
