Our Senior Pastor, David Hardwick, provides spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, and vision for our church family, helping people grow in their faith and follow Jesus Christ while encouraging Central Baptist Church to love God, love people, and reach the world.

Pastor David Hardwick has served as the Pastor of Central Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, since July 2022. Having served in ministry since 1995, he is passionate about helping churches become healthy, Christ-centered, Gospel-focused communities that reach people for Jesus Christ. A lifelong resident of the Phenix City area, Pastor David understands and deeply loves the community he serves. He graduated from Central High School before earning a Master’s Degree in Evangelism and Church Planting from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Throughout his years of ministry, Pastor David has developed a deep love for the local church and a particular passion for church revitalization. He believes God still has a purpose and plan for churches that may have experienced difficult seasons, declining attendance, or a loss of focus on their mission. His heart is to help churches rediscover their biblical purpose, strengthen their ministries, reach new generations, and become a vibrant Gospel presence in their communities.

For Pastor David, revitalization is not simply about growing attendance. It is about helping a church become spiritually healthy and passionately committed to the mission God has given it.

Pastor David’s vision for Central Baptist Church is simple:

He believes the church should be more than a place people attend. It should be a family of believers who worship together, grow together, serve together, and carry the Gospel beyond the walls of the church.

His goal is to lead a church that is spiritually healthy, actively serving its community, and faithfully sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with future generations.

Pastor David is married to his wife, Terra. Together they have a son and a daughter and are blessed with five grandchildren. Family is an important part of their lives, and they are grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and the people of the community they have always called home.

After more than three decades of ministry, Pastor David remains passionate about the same calling that first drew him into ministry:

Loving God, loving people, and helping others find a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

His prayer is that God would use him and the ministry of Central Baptist Church to bring renewed life, spiritual health, and lasting Gospel impact to the church and the community it serves.
